Another year, another spooky season. You’re lucky enough to live in Los Angeles – arguably, the best place to celebrate Halloween in the world. A million things pop up to do for autumn-heads of all kinds. If you love haunted houses, this is your moment. I’m pulling together every walk through in greater LA, from the theme parks to indie fever dreams to neighborhood legends that somehow build better sets than Hollywood. Many of the home haunts are free or donation based, so your wallet gets to live too.
Bookmark this. I’ll update with quick-hit reviews as I walk through everything. I’ll also add new haunts as they pop up.

Theme Park Haunts

You know it, you love it, the most famous haunt experience in the world! This year’s IP’s include Terrifier, Five Nights at Freddy’s, a Blumhouse Terror Tram, and the kind of fog that makes you forget your middle name. You will run into at least one chainsaw clown and pretend you didn’t.
Knott’s Scary Farm
Dates: September 18 to November 1, select nights
An absolute OG. Ten-plus mazes, with two new ones this year, gleefully mean monsters, and Calico Ghost Town, set to the backdrop of one of SoCal’s most beloved theme parks. If you know, you know.
Six Flags Magic Mountain: Fright Fest
Dates: September 19 to November 2, select nights
Coasters in the dark plus houses and scare zones. Scream on X2 – this year’s house themes include Saw, The Conjuring Universe, Trick r’ Treat, and more. Not for the faint of heart!

Three mazes, scare zones, and an antique car ride overlay that goes full spooky. Nighttime at Castle Park hits different.
Disney California Adventure: Oogie Boogie Bash

It had to be included, although this being a “haunt” is kind of a stretch. Not scary, but still Halloween heaven. Villains, treat trails, and the best costumes you will see all year (one of the only times you can actually dress up in the park!). Bring the kids or just your inner child.
